White Pine, and the world over, according to Carina: the ordinary is extraordinary. A day filled with events that we adults often overlook as nothing more than routine, mundane, and normal is cast in a completely different light when viewed through Carina's wide eyes: it is an adventure into Wonderland.

"The lovers, the dreamers, and me..."

I've been wanting to blog for our distantly located family and friends for over a year now and am so excited to finally be doing this for them! My intentions are never to be philosophically enlightening, earth-shatteringly informative, or the like; merely to provide a window into our lives for our loves both near and far. There will be photos galore, too! Without further adieu, this is for you...

Meyer's Farm & Pumpkin Patch

We want to share so much with Carina. So much that at times it's difficult to decide where to begin. In our day-to-day conscious decisions, memories, and reminiscences, we often revert back to our childhood/ younger years' pleasures, pains, gains, losses, lacks, and bounties. As avid Muppet-aficionados, we have bequeathed our shared adoration for those lovably round-eyed puppets to Carina. I added 'The Muppets Movie' to our Netflix Q over a month ago, but since I do not review the Q very often, whichever flick arrives within 2 days of returning the prior one is normally a surprise. Let's just say, I did my best Miss Piggy squeal when I opened the floppy red envelope yesterday.

Lately Carina requests watching an Elmo DVD as soon as we get home from our daily grind at either school or work. Last night, however, her request for Elmo was rapidly silenced when she saw a new, green, crooning, amphibian face flash across the screen. He was playing banjo. And singing. She was effortlessly hooked! Miss Lover-of-all-things-music-instruments-and-singing's attention was held so raptly by Kermit that she didn't even notice us singing along! Passing along The Muppets to her is much like passing down a family heirloom. The Muppets served both Jared and I well. I mean, hey, just look at us: model citizens, right here!? Though we only watched less than half of it before bathtime and bedtime last night, we were lifted and I'm still liltingly humming 'The Rainbow Connection' today. I wonder if Carina is, too...

Yay! A blog post! I sure hope you keep it up. :) I think you know that is one of my favorite movies of all time, along with one of my favorite songs. Brings back so many memories...I even used to have a Big Bird playhouse. You know, one of those flimsy plastic ones with windows and the flap door?

By the way, LOVE you photo at the bottom. :)

This is really photo-nerdy of me too, but I can send you web versions of your photos so the color doesn't wash out when you post them...if you want a certain few, just ask and I'll fix them and email them to you. Just a thought...

I will be blogging "regularly", which in this sentence means: as often as necessary, whether it be daily or weekly, we shall see. Thanks for checking it out! I'd love to have a few 'web versions'. Just pick out some of your faves for me. I trust your judgment.
